Mark is an independent filmmaker and photojournalist focused on human rights and justice in the global economy. He has spent many years in Latin America producing photography. Mark studied film production at New York University. MARMATO is his first feature documentary.
Stuart was an associate producer on Jason Buxton’s dramatic feature film BLACKBIRD, which won the Grand Prize this year at Cannes Ecrans Junior, and Best First Canadian Feature last year at the Toronto International Film Festival. Stuart has produced for National Geographic Channel and History, as well as numerous award-winning short films.
Achbar is known for producing MANUFACTURING CONSENT. honored with 22 awards and distinctions. Achbar’s next film, THE CORPORATION, was nominated for numerous awards, and won the World Cinema Audience Award: Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival, 2004. It holds the distinction of Canada’s all-time, top-grossing feature documentary.
Starr has worked on numerous awards including an Oscar® nomination and an Emmy nomination for HARDWOOD. He has Gemini Award nominations for DREAM TOWER, EAST SIDE SHOWDOWN, NO PLACE CALLED HOME and AFTERMATH: THE REMNANTS OF WAR. He co-produced MANUFACTURED LANDSCAPES (Genie for Best Feature Documentary and nominated for an Independent Spirit Award).
Acosta credits include the acclaimed films: SHOOTING INDIANS, A JOURNEY WITH JEFFREY THOMAS (Genie Award Nomination for Best Short Documentary) SPIRITS OF HAVANA (Genie Award Nomination for Best Documentary); THE TAKE (Venice Film Festival, Nominated Best Picture Editor – Gemini Awards); and HERMAN’S HOUSE. Todd Boekelheide began at American Zoetrope and went on to work as an assistant editor on STAR WARS. He went on to edit picture and sound on THE BLACK STALLION. He won an Oscar for AMADEUS He has scored several feature films, including DIM SUM and NINA TAKES A LOVER, and numerous documentaries, notably Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker’s Apocalypse and Ballets Russes.
Izabel is an independent filmmaker and producer who studied Film and International Relations at Bard College. She has worked in television, independent films, and as the outreach coordinator for several films and initiatives such as the Red Light Children Campaign, and Associate Producer for Triple Threat Television. Izabel is committed to using film as a tool for activism and awareness.
Lisa Smithline is an innovative leader in the cause marketing field. As a producer and marketing strategist Lisa creates dynamic multi-platform distribution campaigns using film and new media. Lisa's current career integrates a commitment to social change with an extensive background in film, television and commercial production. As a founding partner of Brave New Films and director of alternative marketing at Focus Features, Lisa pioneered new models of community-based distribution. Dan Green is the President of Bridge Consulting International where he trains and advises people around the world on high-level negotiations over corporate disputes and violent conflicts. He has a growing interest in the role of film as a conflict transformation tool.
